Ishiyaki-imo (η³ηΌγθ), roughly translated as stone-grilled (sweet) potato, is a favorite Japanese snack of fall and winter time. It is not a rare sight to find mini trucks equipped with potato grills selling ishiyaki-imo throughout Japan during the winter. You can distinguish the whistling sound the grill makes and the vendor’s (usually recorder) melodic voice over loudspeakers advertising this yummy snack!
