Ishi yaki-imo

Ishiyaki-imo (ηŸ³η„ΌγθŠ‹), roughly translated as stone-grilled (sweet) potato, is a favorite Japanese snack of fall and winter time. It is not a rare sight to find mini trucks equipped with potato grills selling ishiyaki-imo throughout Japan during the winter. You can distinguish the whistling sound the grill makes and the vendor’s (usually recorder) melodic voice over loudspeakers advertising this yummy snack!

The guy in the photo just started selling. For 100 yen a piece it is a bargain! Photo taken in Osaka.
